As a young boy I had carte blanche to watch whatever I wanted. I even had a parents note allowing me to bring home rated R movies. Imagine screening Flesh+Blood (1985), Predator (1987) and RoboCop (1987) in a weekend as a 9 year old. My dad would say, "remember this is only a movie" or "you're not allowed to use this language yet". The 80's was a wild time and was the decade that I fell in love with cinema.

My parents owned a variety and video store from 1989 until 1997. Being surrounded by movie titles was heaven to me. With our sizable collection, I was able to closely study the credits and box arts. During this time I was introduced to some of my favorite movies and it was back then that I decided that I would be a filmmaker, so I started shooting my own movies with a Hi8 camcorder on my free time. Some of my favorite directors got their start in the 90's too, so it was another fantastic era for films.
